Barbino Brighton: Mediterranean Small Plates and Wine Arrive on North Road

Barbino brings Mediterranean small plates, low-intervention wines and cocktails to North Road Brighton, co-located with The Botanist Coffee Co.

North Road doesn’t need another coffee shop. What it could use is a place where you can have a proper glass of wine at a sensible time of day without feeling like you’ve wandered into a Thursday-night bar. That’s the gap Barbino is going after.

The concept: Mediterranean small plates, low-intervention wines, cocktails. They’ve set up at DOTS on North Road, sharing the space with The Botanist Coffee Co. Outside seating when the weather allows, which in early October is still sometimes worth gambling on.

Early impressions are strong. Staff knowledge is getting noticed, which for a wine-led spot matters as much as the list itself. Brighton isn’t short of good wine bars, but the natural wine side of things has room for more players, and a small plates format that takes the food seriously makes for a better evening than somewhere treating it as an afterthought.

Reservation details are yet to appear on barbino.co.uk. The site is still in launch mode, so worth checking back for hours and bookings.

Opening date and hours are unconfirmed at time of publication. Check their website for current information.
