263 upcoming workshops & classes events in Brighton & Hove
Brighton is full of people who know how to make things and want to teach you. Pottery classes in Hove. Printmaking in North Laine. Life drawing above a pub on a Tuesday evening. The city's independent makers and artists run workshops year-round, and they're usually better than the corporate "experience day" alternatives.
Cookery classes are popular. So are cocktail masterclasses, candle making, screen printing, and jewellery. Some of these are run out of dedicated studio spaces. Others happen in the back of shops, community centres, or someone's converted garage. Brighton doesn't do things conventionally.
The Open Market hosts regular creative sessions. Several co-working spaces run skill-sharing events. The universities open up their facilities for public workshops periodically. If you want to learn something specific, chances are someone in Brighton is teaching it.
Workshops make decent birthday presents and date nights, which the venues know. Lots of them sell gift vouchers. Some run regular evening or weekend slots, others are one-offs that sell out fast. Booking early is worth it for anything ceramics-related. Brighton went mad for pottery around 2022 and hasn't calmed down.
