272 upcoming family & outdoors events in Brighton & Hove
Brighton with kids is better than you'd expect. Yes, there's the beach and the pier and the Sea Life Centre. The obvious stuff. But there's a lot more going on, especially when you start looking at the events calendar.
The museums run family workshops most weekends. Brighton Dome and the Corn Exchange programme children's shows that are actually good, not just loud. The i360 does family tickets. The open-air theatre in Stanmer Park puts on shows in summer. Libraries run free storytelling sessions. It doesn't have to cost much.
Brighton Fringe and the Brighton Festival both have dedicated children's programmes. The Fringe in particular is worth digging into. Puppet shows, magic, interactive theatre, science workshops. Some of the best stuff is free or pay-what-you-can.
The parks are a strong option too. Hove Lagoon, Preston Park, Stanmer Park, the Level. Most run organised activities during school holidays. The seafront has pop-up rides and events through summer. On a sunny Saturday there'll be something happening somewhere.
If it's raining, soft play centres and indoor climbing walls pick up the slack. But honestly, Brighton kids learn to deal with a bit of weather pretty early on.
